Ham Radio Activities

Welcome to Mr. Walrath's Ham Radio Activities page. I am currently living in Parañaque City, Philippines, and teach at the German European School Manila. This area is designed to hold my Ham activities in the Philippines with the call sign of DU1ZXO (my Philippine Class "A"/Amateur Extra call sign) and N0PQB/DU1 (My "temporary" call sign in the Philippines).

Local Operations

Expect to see APRS links show up here, and once my weather station arrives, weather data for the local area will be transmitted by way of APRS-IS.

SAT-Gate (uplink to ISS and other APRS-enabled birds) and I-Gate operations will commence shortly after 1 August 2016), HF operations after 1 August 2016, and IRLP node should go online sometime after ISP contracted. Important note regarding IRLP: this is a "closed" node, in that I need to insure that any user on IRLP is a licensed ham. If you're a licensed ham in the Philippines and want access, please email me directly. The school APRS-WX station operations will once again resume in early August, and classroom HF/VHF operations will begin in September 2016 on Monday afternoons.

SAT-Gate and I-GATE operations will be UPS backed-up beginning in September 2016.
